Has anyone managed to use this particular model in FreeBSD? Or maybe this model can be used in any other *BSD distribution. Most of the hardware in my laptop works under FreeSBIE and PC-BSD, so I assume it could work in FreeBSD too.
Unfortunately the tablet didn't work and I couldn't find any information whether this model can be used with any distribution of BSD or not.

Nissan 350Z

The folder CARS/350Z indicates that a Nissan 350Z was going to appear. Unfortunately, the only remnants of the 350Z are two files in that folder (PREVINYL.BIN and VINYLS.BIN). It was featured in its prequel, Underground 2 and later featured in Most Wanted's sequel, Carbon. It was probably removed due to licensing issues because there are no Nissan cars in the final game.

Also, a frontend node for the Nissan 350Z was located in the VLTEd data of Need for Speed: Most Wanted, however, it is not located inside vehicles due to the brand being cut. However, the errors listed on the car are that it's cost, region and UnlockedAt is set to 0, and it uses Aston Martin's manufacturer ID of 21, instead of Nissan's manufacturer ID is in the Unlimiter, which is 13. Also, a verbal type where the police calls the player's car as a Nissan also went unused.

However, a mod by Zvott96 adds the Nissan 350Z as an addon car, converted from Need for Speed: Carbon.

Also, a hidden tires node with the word skyline indicates there were some evidences that the Nissan Skyline GT-R V-Spec (R34) was also going to originally appear, but licensing reasons also cut the manufacturer from the car list.

BMW M3 E46

Find a picture of the Windows model to make a comparison.

Some pre-release screenshots and game files indicate that the BMW M3 E46 (the base model; the player's titular blue-striped car is the GTR race model) was supposed to be in the game. However, the Windows and PlayStation 2 versions still have the body mesh and car logo in the files. The Windows version doesn't have any proper materials assigned for the vehicle, resulting in a black shape, but the PlayStation 2 version still has the materials intact. Textures still exist in the game's data. While both versions of the model have misplaced wheels and feature customization parts with the exception of bodykits and some missing hoods, the PS2 one has working visual modifications (including some early vinyls and a bugged number customization) with the only things missing being some decal positioning (panels, rear window and some door slots). This car was later introduced in ProStreet. Also, a mod by EllisRacing restores the cut M3 E46 to the game.

A language string for the BMW M3 CSL (E46) also exists in the Languages files, however, due to the somewhat incomplete translation, it is listed as BMW M3 CSL - BUG.

If, on the other hand, you’ve done some of their workouts over the last couple of years, as I did with the Insanity Workout and the Insanity Asylum, it is justifiable to have big expectations for this one as well.
We decided to make this Focus T25 workout review as to give you the most detailed information about the Focus T25 workout and set your expectations straight. Hence this review is slightly different from other Focus T25 review out there.
Namely, I’ve finished the Insanity workout, went for an on and off relationship with it for a while, then completed the Insanity Asylum.
So writing the Focus T25 review from my perspective would have been wrong for couple of reasons. First, any results I would have witnessed could have been easily contributed to my previous investment in fitness, and second I will never get to know the full scope of what the Focus T25 workout is capable of.
And here steps Bojan, the co-editor of this site, who decided to took the challenge and write about it in this Focus t25 workout review. He was out of shape for couple of years back, not overweight per say, but lacking muscle definition and wanting to burn some fat tissue, not familiar with any of the Beachbody exercises no matter how hard I tried to persuade him. Long story short, being the perfect lab rat for this Focus T25 review, he stepped in.

How and why I started with the Focus T25 workout
Bojan:
The Focus T25 workout… So where do we start? If you’ve read the introduction by Slavko, you might guess how fun this trial was. After a while of going back and forth, he convinced me to try it out. Not that I was skeptical or anything of the like (seeing the results he got from Insanity and Insanity Asylum), but knowing how hard those workouts were I never really seemed to harness the will power.
That and not having time were my go-to excuses whenever he would bring the subject of fitness up. Now that I’ve never tried Insanity is not entirely true. He probably don’t even know this, but I’ve once put one DVD and did the warm up after which I decided to abandon exercise altogether. To say it was hard would be a huge understatement.
He tried convincing me on a couple of occasions, reassuring me that I would reach my fitness goals – achieving less body fat percentage by losing weight, adding some muscle mass and definition, and overall an improved physical condition – but weighting that on one side of the scale against how hard the process was going to be, I somehow never seemed convinced enough.
And when the Focus T25 workout came out, he couldn’t say it better, I was the perfect lab rat for this Focus T25 review.

What does the media say about the Focus T25 workout
By the way they Focus t25 workout marketed you can tell that it distinctly differs from the other ones in the line. Whereas Insanity was introduced in the lines of working out hard, this is more about working out smart.
The biggest asset, and something Slavko was very skeptical about at the very beginning, was the time needed for each workout – only 25 minutes. And this was the biggest leverage for making people buy it when you think about it. It also was something that made more experienced fitness guys like Slavko disregard the Focus T25 workout altogether at the very beginning, not anymore though.
Another thing that makes the Focus T25 workout different is how many days per week you are about to invest. While both Insanity and even more so Insanity Asylum Require 6 days per week, here you will work out only for 5. That is, if you don’t count stretching on Sunday – which cannot be really thought of as a workout. The Insanity Max 30 workout with 30 minute workouts emerges as a competitor for Focus T25. The Max 30 workout is thoroughly explained in this Insanity Max 30 review.

What else caught my eye was the fact that the Focus t25 workout was divided into phases, which were said to provide progress as you go along. Unlike Insanity, here you start slow and build up from there.
Slavko bought the Focus T25 workout and decided to set a date.
He said that he will go over each of the workouts once and see how they compare to the other programs, and judging on the experience he had with those programs as well as being a fitness coach for a while, he would guess on what kind of results I should expect.
Shaun T – the person behind the Focus T25 workout
If infomercials haven’t drilled this information into you yet, let me do that in a second. Shaun T is the person behind the Insanity workout as well as The Insanity Asylum Vol.1 and Vol.2, Hip hop abs, etc… He has a degree in sports science and a minor in theatre and dance. Choreographer, dancer and a fitness trainer for quite a long time, it is fair to say that he is up to the task.
It is said that Shaun T made the Focus T25 workout for Carl Daikeler, the CEO of Beachbody, creating a program which will allow for staying in great shape while coping with busy schedule.
He also invited over Tania, from the Insanity workout program, who was post pregnancy, having given birth to her son couple of months prior to the workouts with the test groups started taking place. Her transformation with the Focus T25 workout is something that created quite a buzz in the fitness community.
Over the years I learned to appreciate Shaun T quite a lot, having done both Insanity and Insanity Asylum. He is an incredible motivator, being able to push me through hell when I did the Asylum.
Having said that, I will try every workout of his that comes out in the future, and this makes me slightly biased towards his products, but I will try to hold my enthusiasm in check and not make this Focus T25 review look like a sales letter. Instead I will try giving you the most informed opinion on why the focus t25 workout either suits you or not. I hope Bojan will do the same.
Focus T25 review – what should you expect?
Before continuing with Bojan’s thoughts about his experience, let me share with you what I’ve told him after going over the exercises myself.
First of all it was apparent that the Focus T25 workout was fairly easier in comparison with Insanity. Not to mention Insanity Asylum. If not trying to race against the clock and go all out on every set, I was somewhere in my comfort zone.
This meant that business wise, Beachbody decided to target a slightly different demographic – people who wanted results, but were afraid of punishing themselves with insane amount of exercise day after day.
It is really interesting to know that all you have to do today is only 25 minutes of working out. With Insanity, especially the second month videos, it was a constant struggle, knowing that I will be in agony for a whole hour. I learned to love it though, but some people seemed less pleased with that and ended up feeling frustrated, eventually giving up.
Here, in the Focus T25 workout, you have only 25 minutes, and unlike Insanity or Asylum you can do modifications.

Very occasionally I find a soundsource that won't load in Omnisphere, which claims it is missing. Toxic Aura is one which crashes the system, and I know you've tested this, Eric, and it's generally fine on other systems. I have the Keyscape USB Drives (A and B) which I constantly re installed, then UPDATED the Keyscape software, then Soundsource, then Patches, THEN Authorized it as per your instructions. As for Omnisphere, it was running fine until I updated it to the latest 2.5 version along with the soundsources and patches. In the sound folders within the steam folder you will find a zmap file for each library (Omnisphere, Trilian, Keyscape, User) if you remove these files the next time you open your DAW and Omnisphere the software will do a new search (takes a few minutes) and re-produce these files and the problem is solved. Run this release’s setup.exe as an administrator. If this is an update, make sure the path to the plugin is the same as where your old Spectrasonics plugins are stored (older versions must be overwritten). macOS Package (.pkg) Installer
The easiest way to install MacPorts on a Mac is by downloading the pkg or dmg for Big Sur, Catalina, Mojave, High Sierra, Sierra, El Capitan, Yosemite, Mavericks, Mountain Lion, Lion, Snow Leopard, Leopard or Tiger and running the system's Installer by double-clicking on the pkg contained therein, following the on-screen instructions until completion.
This procedure will place a fully-functional and default MacPorts installation on your host system, ready for usage. Source Installation
If on the other hand you decide to install MacPorts from source, there are still a couple of things you will need to do after downloading the tarball before you can start installing ports, namely compiling and installing MacPorts itself:
“cd” into the directory where you downloaded the package and run “tar xjvf MacPorts-2.7.0.tar.bz2” or “tar xzvf MacPorts-2.7.0.tar.gz”, depending on whether you downloaded the bz2 tarball or the gz one, respectively.
Build and install the recently unpacked sources:
cd MacPorts-2.7.0
./configure && make && sudo make install
Optionally:
cd ./
rm -rf MacPorts-2.7.0*
These steps need to be perfomed from an administrator account, for which “sudo” will ask the password upon installation. This procedure will install a pristine MacPorts system and, if the optional steps are taken, remove the as of now unnecessary MacPorts-2.7.0 source directory and corresponding tarball.
To customize your installation you should read the output of “./configure --help | more” and pass the appropriate options for the settings you wish to tweak to the configuration script in the steps detailed above.
You will need to manually adapt your shell's environment to work with MacPorts and your chosen installation prefix (the value passed to configure's --prefix flag, defaulting to /opt/local):
Add ${prefix}/bin and ${prefix}/sbin to the start of your PATH environment variable so that MacPorts-installed programs take precedence over system-provided programs of the same name.
If a standard MANPATH environment variable already exists (that is, one that doesn't contain any empty components), add the ${prefix}/share/man path to it so that MacPorts-installed man pages are found by your shell.
For Tiger and earlier only, add an appropriate X11 DISPLAY environment variable to run X11-dependent programs, as Leopard takes care of this requirement on its own.

I know you’ve been on the edge of your seat hoping for Part 2 of The Quest for the Ideal Carry Revolver. Unfortunately, thanks to nasty winter weather and the past week’s wild ammo market, I haven’t been to the range much lately. So until I get more trigger time with the revolvers I’m trying out, enjoy my best attempt at deciphering Smith & Wesson’s revolver catalog.
We got some good feedback on our reference guide to 1st-3rd Gen S&W Semi-Autos, so for our Wheel Gun Wednesday series I thought I’d put together a similar chart for all of the S&W revolvers. And that’s exactly what I would have done except Smith & Wesson’s revolver model numbers have all been assigned by a mad genius. Sometimes there appears to be a logical numbering system at work, but it’s applied inconsistently, and varies from one product line to the next.
So instead of one big comprehensive chart for every Smith & Wesson revolver ever made, I’m offering this smaller bite-sized chunk: every post-1957 .38 Special and .357 Magnum revolver from S&W that officially entered full-scale production.
Why 1957? That’s the year when S&W switched over to assigning model numbers to each revolver rather than identifying them only by unique names (e.g., “Registered Magnum” or “Combat Masterpiece”). The nicknames still remained in many cases, but they could refer to a family or series of revolvers with similar characteristics.
In the charts below, I’ve grouped the models by frame size and then by series. Where possible, I’ve listed the defining features of each series. For each model, there’s information about its caliber, frame material, sights, finish, and ammo capacity. Here’s a handy key for how to read the chart:

Caliber: For this post, all models are .38 Special or .357 Magnum. Most S&W .38 Special revolvers can handle +P ammo, but the +P designation doesn’t appear on the barrel of some older models so it’s always best to contact S&W customer service and verify that it’s safe.
Frame Material: S&W has used a variety of metals to construct their revolvers over the years but the frames all have been either steel or a lightweight aluminum alloy. Some variants of the alloy guns contain Scandium for an even lighter overall weight. The absolute lightest S&W revolver have also included a Titanium cylinder. I’ve noted the use of Sc or Ti on the chart when the only available version of a given model use those alloys. Other alloy frame guns listed on the charts may have Sc frame or Ti cylinder variants that exist in addition to the standard aluminum or steel versions.
Model Number: The model number assigned to the product without any prefixes or suffixes (with the exception of the “Plus” model L-frames).
Sights: Sights can be fixed or adjustable. The fixed sights are generally a ramp style front sight with a gutter in the top strap to form the rear sight. S&W has used a variety of adjustable rear sights over the years, but most have a removable blade insert. Front sights on models with the adjustable rear can be the traditional ramp style machined into the barrel, but newer front sights are pinned, and can be removed and replaced with aftermarket front sights.
Finish: For the sake of simplicity, I’ve only used the labels “black” or “stainless” on the chart. Black can refer to a matte black finish or a glossy blue finish. Older models with a blue finish were often also available with a shiny nickel plated finish. Stainless can refer to the polished or matte stainless steel revolvers, or alloy revolvers with a silver matte finish that mimics the stainless steel look.
Ammo Capacity: All J-frame .38 Special and .357 magnum revolvers have a five-round capacity. K-frames all have six. L-frames can hold six or seven shots depending on the model. Older N-frame designs have a six-round capacity but the newer ones hold eight.
Other Info: I’ve tried to keep the chart as complete as possible while still being readable. That said, there is still information you won’t be able to find here. The most significant omission is barrel length. Almost every model has been offered in multiple barrel lengths at some point but availability varies. The more common barrel lengths are listed in the summary for each frame size.
I also haven’t listed the variants available for each model. If a model number contains a suffix like “PD” or “Lady Smith”, it might mean that it has features that distinguish it from other models in the same series. Here’s an incomplete list of the more common variants and some other suffixes you might see on model numbers:
PD: “Personal Defense”. Usually indicates Scandium alloy frame.
Sc: Indicates frame with Scandium Alloy.
Ti: Titanium Cylinder. Usually accompanied by Scandium alloy frame.
Lady Smith: Name given to a number of variants in different calibers and frame sizes. Usually accompanied by special grips and engraving.
Airweight: Indicates an Aluminum alloy frame.
Airlite: Indicates a Scandium alloy frame.
Night Guard (NG): Series introduced in 2008 with models in various calibers and frame sizes. All have a 2.5-inch barrel, alloy frame, steel cylinder, Tritium front sight, and a removable Cylinder and Slide brand fixed rear sight.
J-Frame
The J-frame S&W revolver has become so ubiquitous that the term is often used as a generic reference to almost any small frame snub nosed revolver. The most common barrel length for a J-frame is 1 ⅞” but 3-inch models are also plentiful along with some other less common sizes.
J-Frame model numbers are determined by frame material, hammer/action type, and finish. Unlike K and L frame revolvers, S&W doesn’t use a separate model number for J-frames with adjustable versus fixed sights.
A few J-frame models started out as being offered in only .38 special, but in the mid-1990s, were beefed up to handle .357 magnum. I’ve included each of these multi-caliber models as two separate entries in the chart.
The three major J-frame model series are as follows:
Chief’s special: Standard hammer. Most have fixed sights but a few have been offered with adjustable sights.

Pokemon Platinum Version: An Entirely Different Game
The Pokemon Platinum version is the third of its kind in the newest region's games, as is the case with the Yellow, Crystal and Emerald versions. Except for small changes in the story and a few new activities, there aren't many changes in the third version in comparison with the first two versions. But such a trend has been broken with Platinum, which is so different from the previous versions that it feels and looks like a completely different game instead of being a third version.

The story is the newest version's most significant change. In it, two new characters are introduced – Charon, an enigmatic Team Galactic Admin as well as Looker, a secret agent conducting an investigation into Team Galactic's activities – that add to the game's interesting story.

These are the Battle Tower, which involves straightforward battles between Pokemon; the Battle Factory, which only allows the use of rental Pokemon; the Battle Arcade, which requires half luck and half skill since a roulette wheel can determine your fate (i.e., crushing defeat or glorious victory); the Battle Hall, which allows battles with your favorite Pokemon; the Battle Castle, which has higher risks for defeat because your Pokemon will not be healed when injured.
By winning these battles, you will acquire experience points. You can spend these experience points on a wide range of items, such as things that can be used to see your rival's Pokemon before a battle. Since you will also need these points in healing your Pokemon, you have to use them wisely so as to succeed in the Battle Frontier.

HI All, I am working on my first custom mod - a Lot trait for a church. I fiddled around with The Sims 4 Mod Creator v4 and created my trait. Sims actually have two of the three moodlets I assigned, the third moodlet is only operating as I have my sim interact with other sims in the Church, so I guess the sim on the receiving end receives that moodlet.
An update about my custom traits. Because it’d be a particularly large undertaking to re-make all of the custom traits I’ve released from scratch, as well as not knowing if the current version of MCv4 is affected by the issues causing the LE’s as of the patch (as it was last updated a month ago), I’ve decided not to update the traits at.
Sims 4 Custom Content Tutorials. As soon as you figure out how it works, creating a new trait in Sims 4 Studio should not prove to be a problem.
The Sims 4 does have a fair share of traits that we can pick from.
But many of them can get quite repetitive if you’re one of those who like to have a ton of Sims in one town.
It gets to a point where all sims have the same traits over and over again. And that’s when an injection of much-needed variety comes in handy.
As such I’ve compiled a list of the best custom traits add-ons that we can install for The Sims 4, all thanks to the work of a group of fantastic modders.

35. Alcoholic Trait
Alright I know you might’ve thought that this was going to be quite a lighthearted list, but I’m starting it with the darkest trait of them all.
The Alcoholic Trait makes your sims live depending on alcohol, which means that they will often get depressed for no apparent reason.
And they’ll only be happy when they’re having a drink or three.
For alcoholic sims, it’s never really too early to have a drink.
It’s up to you to control them or watch them burst through their minibar to make themselves a morning margarita.
34. Lot Traits
The Lot Traits pack allows you to select specific traits for a lot, allowing you to have a better level of customization in your towns and cities.
With Lot Traits you’ll be adding a bunch of new options and customizability to the game environment.
Banks, airports, train stations, bakeries, and much more.
All of them will be available to be selected as lot traits with this mod! Sounds kinda like Sim City huh?
33. Lifestyle Traits
This mod adds four new lifestyle traits to the game, two of which are very political.
You can have your sim be a Republican or a Democrat, which I actually find hilarious because the game avoids politics as much as any other.
However I’m including this mod because it adds the Meditator and All Rounder traits, which make fantastic additions to the game.
32. Hobby Traits
If you don’t like your sim to be an outright alcoholic but you still want them to enjoy a few drinks, then this mod has a trait that’ll serve you well.
The mod itself adds 4 new hobby traits to the game, one of which is the Bar Drinker trait.
Cute right?
It also adds Chess Lover as well as Coffee Lover and Beauty Lover.
Get your sims invested in what they love and select what that is for them before they are “born”.
31. Bossy Trait
This seems like a trait that could’ve easily have been in the base game.
So naturally, it’s one that I’m adding to my list.
The Bossy trait makes it so any sim that has it feels superior to the rest, which in turn makes them think that they can boss everyone else around.
It makes the sim a bit annoying. But we have to deal with people like this in our lives all the time, so why wouldn’t those who live in sim world be subjected to the same fate?
30. Handsome Trait
The Handsome Trait is fantastic for those looking to create a good-looking sim and have others recognize him for it.
This trait makes it so making friends is much easier, and every female sim will also be far more interested in your male sim than any others.
With great power comes great responsibility, though.
So be careful with how you influence others with your charming good looks.
29. Autism in Sims 4
This is a pretty serious trait mod, but one that everyone looking for a realistic experience should have in their game.
The Autism trait make sit so sims act as if they had autism – they repeat the same activities over and over again, they have issues communicating and performing any type of social activities. And they can only speak to others about a handful of topics.
It’s not a mod that’ll make your sims better in any way.
But it does add a lot of realism to the game and puts things into perspective for your others sims; figuratively speaking.
28. Arrogant Trait
Arrogant sims are extremely confident (being confident is their default emotion) and they absolutely hate failure.
They suffer negative status changes by failing or getting embarrassed in front of others.
It’s a very well-made trait, and I really enjoy having the option to make my sim a bit of an arrogant prick if I’m doing one of “those” playthroughs.
27. Feminine & Manly Traits
The Feminine and Manly traits allow your sims to feel more connected to their roots.
And each of these mods comes with one additional status change depending on random factors.
The mood of your manly sim can change and have him be more confident, or the mood of your female sim can change to have her be happier.
A cool little mod, even though these traits don’t change that much.
26. Blessed & Cursed Traits
I think you can already imagine what these traits do – they basically change the life of a sim without them having any control of what happens.
The cursed trait will make your sim’s life a bit of a living hell, whilst the blessed trait will make the life of your sim feel like they’re in heaven.
Which one would you rather have? I know which one is certainly more fun.
25. New Emotional Traits
These amazing emotional traits are basically extreme versions of other traits in the game.
You’ll have a Stoic sim, for example, which is a sim that is always super calm.
You may also have an Egghead sim which is a genius that always seems to be talking about nerdy stuff and might bore other sims with their jib-jab.
I love this because it truly makes every sim more unique than they are in the base game – extreme emotions are common among people and they should be in Simland too.
24. Two-Faced Trait
“Two-Faced Sims are untrustworthy, dishonest and backstabbing.”
Well, damn. That’s one hell of a description.
I’m guessing this trait is based on someone they know in real life or a bad breakup… but hey, let’s not complain and hope they’re doing better now!
This mod adds the ability for sims to be untrustworthy pricks. That should totally have been in the base game.
23. Spiritual Trait
Get in touch with yourself and with nature with the spiritual trait, which will make your sim feel more attached with the things we can’t see but make us feel more pure.
Having good karma is important for many people.
And now it will be important for many sims as well.
It’s time to balance those energies that float around and keep your sim in the purest of states of mind.
22. Anxious Trait
If you want a challenging but realistic trait mod then this is the one you’ll want to download.
The Anxious Trait mod makes your sim incapable of controlling their anxiety, which will result in a generalized increase of panic attacks and the inability to keep a hold of themselves in many situations that wouldn’t cause any issues to other sims.
It’s based on a real disease, so be ready to enter a new plane of realism with this trait.
Trust me it won’t be fun at all. That’s why I’m adding it to the list!

Anyway, In Sims 3 I refused to play without default replacement skins, but the Sims 3 Sims were just so ugly.! Edit: Looking at the Default skin mentioned above tho it does look good. But of course the download server is down the one day of the year I want to try it. I use fairly realistic default replacement skins in my game, like most of you guys do. However, I haven't been really interested in aliens / zombies / vampires / plantsims until now. Now that I have recently made a 'sci-fi' family, I want to know what you people use for default 'moster.

The term 'genetic skins' or 'geneticized skintones' is occasionally heard in reference to custom skins for Sims 2, but what the heck does it mean?
Skintone Genetics
The skintones in the game, S1 (light) through S4 (dark) have genetic values assigned to them. These values work on a 'blend' system, so that a sim that has S1 skin can breed with a sim with S4 skin and have a child that falls anywhere in the range (including tan or medium, as well as the extremes, light and dark). This same system works for default replacement skins, which just change the appearance of the skins but not the genetic data.
Custom skintones, by default, do not have the same range of genetic values. Instead, custom skin is dominant: if one sim has custom skin and the other has any shade of Maxis skin, the custom skin will always be dominant, and their children will always have the custom skintone. If two sims with custom skin breed, then there is a 50/50 chance of the child getting one or the other custom skin of the parent.
How Genetic Skintones Differ
Unlike normal custom skintones which do not have special genetic values, Geneticized Skintones have been modified to add values similar to how the default skintones work - using the 'blend' system. In this way, you can increase the range of skin values your sims can have - you can have extra-pale, extra-dark, and more intermediate shades as well, and all the genetics will work happily together. If you download a nice expanded set of Genetic Skins that are well thought out, you can increase the genetic diversity in your game.
Issues with Geneticized Skins
Geneticized Skins are considered part of the 'pool' of possible skins for babies. This means that you may have two sims with default skin and the baby will have a custom skin that neither parent had - because that custom skin had a genetic value between that of the parents. This is fine if you have no genetic skins besides those that match your default set, but it can be confusing or annoying if you don't realize a set is geneticized and a random skin pops up that you weren't expecting.
For this reason, it is recommended that you only download geneticized skintones if you use a matching default set, or if you don't mind this seemingly random aspect to breeding.

The modding community for The Sims franchise is one of the best. At present, it's mainly aimed at the audience of The Sims 4 but love for the previous editions hasn't been lost! The Sims 2 is an older game which can put people off, in terms of the graphics specifically.
Everything looks quite outdated. The eyes, hair and skin have a paper-ish and flat look to them. It does have an early 2000's charm, but in 2021 it can seem lacking. Now, its fun to see the next steps as some sim surgery!
First lets start with something simple. The eyebrows may not be what you first notice, but they have a chunky and thick looking texture. Once changed you will see how everything looks better.

Now I decided to download the default eyebrows from Vimpse, which means they replace the in-game versions. All I had to do was put them in my downloads folder, load up the game and there they were!
Looking at this picture compared to the previous one, I feel the eyebrows are much improved! One thing I do notice, is how it doesn't match the original hair textures.
If you decide to keep the original hair texture you might want to keep the eyebrows how they are, or download some custom maxis-match eyebrows. This won't replace any of them but will give you some extra options.
For a lot of people though, the next step is change the hair! Now, it's tricky when default replacing the in-game hairs, as you want to find a texture that has been reproduced many times.
When I first started out hair replacement, I wanted the original maxis style hairs modded to smoother graphic quality. To my dismay I found this wasn't possible as I couldn't find it on the internet!
So I gave in to the more popular hair textures that at first I wasn't keen on, but now I've gotten used to them. I think they look great if in the right style.

This site gives you many options and I'd suggest deciding on a particular texture first, so that everything will match and look good. It will be less overwhelming. I can't lie, this is going to take a long time if you choose to download each hair individually, so get comfy.

This is the result with the hair and skin modded. So much has improved now, my sim looks pretty and pleasing to the eye. Also, more contemporary.
Finally the last step! Eyes.
Its pretty self explanatory at this point, there's a vast array of default eyes and custom eyes for you to choose from. Google image search is your friend. The original eyes have their own magic and nostalgia for many but they're very old, its the change that overall can have the biggest impact.

In a 1964 book, The Raw and the Cooked, anthropologist Claude Levi-Strauss charts a winding course through the myths of the Bororo people of South America. Beginning with a story of the rape of a mother and subsequent attempts at revenge by the father culminating in the eventual murder of the father’s wives by the youth, Levi-Strauss weaves myth upon myth with the larger objective of showing how empirical opposites – such as raw and cooked, moistened and burned, fresh and decayed – constitute the conceptual foundation of culture. Levi-Strauss claims that concealed in the myth of rape and revenge is the story of the origin of cooked food and what distinguishes us from animals. We cook our food. We transform nature just as cooking transforms food. That is what sets us apart from the animal and makes us human.
While Levi-Strauss’s exercise was about myth, a new book, Catching Fire: How Cooking Made Us Human, by Richard Wrangham argues the Bororo myths may be scientifically true. It is all about energy.
Wrangham begins with trying to understand what transformed us from our australopithecine ancestors. The australopithecines ate primarily plant matter. They had large jaws for grinding a coarse diet and the large digestive tract necessary for assimilating it. They were small, between 3 and 4 feet in height, and had brains barely larger than modern apes. In many ways they were like other modern apes, such as chimpanzees, except they normally walked upright and probably lived in a woodland environment. Lucy, one of the more famous fossils, is an example of the genus.

In a 2006 experiment nine volunteers with spent twelve days eating like apes. They ate fruits, vegetables, and nuts – what was called the Evo Diet, essentially a raw food diet. They consumed adequate calories, but, by the end of the diet, they had lost significant amounts of weight, almost ten pounds on average, slightly less than a pound per day. Cholesterol levels, blood pressure, and other health indicators had also improved.
This would seem to be a strong argument in favor of a raw food diet. Is this diet sustainable? Can humans eat this diet day after day, week after week, year after year? Apparently few, if any, people actually do. Studies of people on raw food diets find constant hunger, significant preparation of food even if it does not involve application of heat, and quite of bit of cheating. A study of raw foodists found over 80% included cooked food in their diet. Certainly no raw foodists are consuming anything like the diet of chimpanzees and apes. The jungles and savannas where the earliest humans evolved are not gardens of Eden with low hanging, sweet fruit on every tree. Foods consisted of relatively unsweet or even bitter fruit, leaves, insects, and an occasional kill. The food of the modern raw foodists consists of food engineered by hundreds of years of horticulture to be sweeter, more nutritious, and easier to digest or it is highly prepared food ground or pulverized by blenders and food processors.
The point is not to criticize the hypocrisy of raw foodists. If anything, today we suffer by consuming over-processed food. The typical diet today in the United States and the industrialized world is a slurry of easily assimilated calories consisting to great extent of cooked and highly processed carbohydrates. The result has been an epidemic of obesity and diabetes. If anything, we should eat more raw foods and much less processed foods. The question is how humans got to this place in their evolutionary history.
Chimpanzees, our closest genetic relative among apes, have brains about the size of our australopithecines ancestors which is about a third the size of modern humans. Their digestive systems in contrast are 40% larger in length than modern humans. All anatomical indications are that our australopithecine ancestors had a digestive tract of similar size. They require this long digestive tract in order to be able to assimilate enough calories from their raw and predominately plant food diet. Could the length of the digestive system be inversely related to brain size in apes?
In humans the brain consumes more calories than any other organ in our bodies. In chimpanzees and other apes the digestive system itself is a huge consumer of calories. The reason is that the digestive system of the ape must burn and waste a lot of calories to consume the calories in the raw food diet. Chimpanzees hunt and enjoy eating meat; however, a chimpanzee cannot afford to spend too much time hunting. If a chimpanzee spends all day hunting and doesn’t catch anything, then the chimpanzee goes hungry because there is not enough time remaining to absorb sufficient calories from the raw food diet. Chimpanzees and apes have to eat almost all day to get sufficient calories from their diet. The transition from australopithecines to the genus Homo and eventually to modern humans was accompanied by a shortening of the digestive tract which made possible an increase in brain size. Humans could not evolve a larger brain without a shortening of the digestive tract. They could not have evolved the shortened digestive tract without becoming able to absorb calories more easily from their diet. The only thing that could have accomplished this was the control of fire and invention of cooking.

Wrangham’s arguments are on multiple levels but key to his argument is the suggestion that the control of fire and cooking occurred earlier in human history than most have suggested. Concrete evidence for this is rather sparse. Evidence has been found at sites dating to around 1.5 million years ago of charcoal and clay heated to 200-400 degrees. Better evidence for control can be dated to the last 500-800 thousand years ago and definitive evidence certainly is found within the last 200-300 thousand years. Wrangham argues for an even earlier age and believes the control of fire and the development of cooking were the key factors that made possible the development of our large brain. Humans were able to evolve this large brain by developing the technology to convert tubers and other hard to digest foods into easy to digest, high energy foods through cooking. Not only does cooking directly provide more calories it also indirectly allows more energy to be available to the brain allowing for the reduction of the size of the digestive track.

The Willcox and Gibbs Sewing Machine Co. (New York) was formed in 1857 by James Willcox and his son Charles, of Philadelphia and James E.A. Gibbs of Pocahontas County, West Virginia. Gibbs patented his first practical single thread rotary twisted chain stitch machine for domestic use in 1856. Willcox was a forward thinking businessman and was in charge of production. He hired the services of the Providence, Rhode Island company of Joseph R. Brown and Lucian Sharpe, who undertook the manufacturing of the machines.
Work began early in 1858 with the local New England Butt Company casting the frames. J.R. A few years after starting the company Willcox & Gibbs opened its London Offices at 135 Regent Street. Prices for the machines ranged from £8 to £15. All the machine heads were built and shipped over from the United States, but some handwheels and wheel mountings were cast at the Coalbrookdale Company in Shropshire. The Coalbrookdale works near Telford, was in Victorian times, famous for producing high quality ornate iron castings and the wheel mountings made here carry a registration mark for 1869. A special Willcox and Gibbs hand crank mechanism was produced for the European market, but the overall shape of the machine remained the same for the whole of its production life.
Early models used a thread tensioner with glass discs, and some of these have the Willcox and Gibbs badge on the back of the casting and a deeper wooden base than later models.

In 1875 the glass tension discs were replaced by an automatic tension device which ensured that the tension did not get out of alignment and which adapted itself to different thicknesses of fabric. These were marketed as the ‘Silent Automatic’ sewing machine. Listed on the cloth plate of all Willcox and Gibbs machines are the patent dates along with a very clever mechanism to show the number of stitches to the inch.
Around 1871 the company’s chief European offices were opened at 150 Cheapside, London. After 1885 the offices were moved to 94 & 96 Wigmore Street and then a few years later to 37 & 39 Moorgate Street. After 1907 the head offices were based at 20 Fore Street London, E.C. and the Willcox and Gibbs Sewing Machine Co.Ltd was founded with branch offices at Nottingham, Manchester, Leeds, Leicester, Luton, Glasgow, Belfast, Paris, Milan, Brussels and an agency at Dresden! Five Measures for this Senior Fitness Test
1. The Chair Test and Other Means to Measure Strength
The chair test is a common method to measure lower body strength. This test is performed by sitting in a chair and getting up without using your arms. The chair test is similar to others, such as using weights to do squats, deadlifts, pushups, or an arm-curl test. All of these require that you perform as many repetitions as possible in about 30 seconds or more. You can get these assessments from a trainer or at a local gym.
The following is what I call the no-brainer strength test because it is very simple to perform. First, get down on the floor. If this step is difficult for you, it indicates a serious lack of strength. Second, get up! If you cannot get up off the floor, you completely fail this test.
Not only can falls result in death, fractures or spinal injuries, people who fall and can’t get up may die because they are helpless to save themselves. They are also unable to seek help for others, or escape a dangerous situation.

2. Cardio Endurance and Aerobic Capacity Senior Fitness Tests
Deficiency in this area is a serious matter because cardiovascular disease is the number one cause of death in the United States.
You can have these tests done at a health and fitness facility or measure them yourself.
There are two tests you can do yourself. One test measures your resting heart rate and the other measures your recovery rate. These tests can be done with either a heart-rate monitor or manually. VO2 Max testing is the best way of measuring cardiovascular fitness. It measures how your body takes in and uses oxygen. This senior fitness test is performed in a laboratory environment.

3. Balance and Coordination Senior Fitness Tests
Sufficient balance and coordination is essential to avoid being the one out of every three Americans over the age of 65 who fall each year.
Balance enables you to maintain a body position in either a stationary or moving situation. Coordination enables you to move your body smoothly and efficiently. It also allows you to maintain rhythm.
Many things can affect balance, such as inner ear infections, medications, and poor eyesight. A visit to your doctor will help determine if you have any of these problems.

Be sure to do these tests near something that you can hold onto or catch so you don’t fall. Holding any of these positions for one minute or more indicates a good degree of balance.
A simple test to gauge your ability to balance is to stand on one foot, lift the other and hold the position. Next, test the position with the lifted leg extended forward, backward, and to the side. Do these on both sides of your body.
A good indicator of a lack of coordination is rhythm. If you have difficulty dancing to rhythm like you used to, you are losing coordination and reaction time.
Your doctor can easily assess a loss of coordination in his office by using rapid point-to-point, alternating movements.

4. Flexibility Senior Fitness Test
Flexibility is the ability to move a joint or muscle with full range of motion. It is important because it decreases injuries; and changes in body fluids as we age tend to decrease range of motion.
A simple way to measure flexibility is with what is commonly referred to as a sit-and-reach test.
Begin this test by first warming up your muscles. Then, sit on the floor with your legs extended in front of you, feet approximately ten inches apart. Holding one hand on top of the other, bend and reach as far forward as you can as you keep your legs straight.
The closer you are able to get to your ankles or toes, the better your flexibility. Your doctor can assess this, or you can have the distance measured by a trainer.

5. Body Composition Tests

Obesity risks include: coronary heart disease, high blood pressure, type II diabetes, and stroke. Bottom line -- a high percentage of body fat can kill you.
Body composition testing measures the amount of body fat you have as compared to lean mass. There are several ways in which this can be measured; but I will focus on the two that are most common.
Skinfolds may be measured with calipers. The measurements are typically taken on the abdomen and thigh. Testing may also include the triceps and chest. A calculation of body fat is done based upon the numbers from these measurements.
Calipers can give you a reasonable calculation. However, if you want greater accuracy, find a facility that does hydrostatic underwater weighing. This method measures the difference in body fat as opposed to lean tissue such as bone and muscle.
Prior to the hydrostatic weighing, the person is weighed while dry. They then exhale completely and are immersed while sitting on a scale. Based upon the fact that fat weighs less than muscle under water, the amount of body fat can be calculated.

Both skinfold tests and hydrostatic weighing can be done at exercise or sports facilities and colleges. You may also find locations in your areas by doing an internet search.
Don't be fooled by the old BMI (body mass index), which uses height and weight to determine if you fall into the 'healthy' weight range for your height. BMI doesn't tell the whole story. Some people may weigh much more than what the chart indicates for their height. It's deceiving, because muscle is more dense than fat. With increasing bodies of evidence on the subject, and alternative forms of making body composition determinations, BMI is most likely going the way of the dinosaurs.
